A much-delayed update...

I've been remiss about keeping up...so I vow to be better.

We took MJJC to his second protest last Sunday. This year was even more poignant. On Monday, March 10, the son of a dear, dear friend was killed in Iraq. He was 28 years old and had a 17 month old son. I cannot even conceive of the pain his family feels. So, we got MJJC dressed, his dad made a sign for him, and off we went. We met up with another friend and her baby. More than a thousand people showed up (a good number for our sleepy college town). I wonder if the politicians will ever hear? What will it take?

I look into the face of my boy, and my heart breaks for every family that loses someone to this BS war.

One Saturday, when ice threatened, we set out for the mall. MJJC got a photo with Santa, then, canines aboard Malvina the Milk Wagon (aka our white station wagon), we stopped for critter pics with Santa at a local doggie treat shop. This turned out to be the best shot of the day! Yippie Yule!

MJJC likes Chuck Berry!

Most beloved son,

You are more fun than humans should be allowed to have. I cannot imagine a better time than hanging out with you. You are silly, sweet, creative and a shining light for me. Cheesy, but true. Some day when you're a little old man, I hope you'll read these words, and watch these images, and recognize the you from before in the you in you now.

Love,
Mommy

Santa Baby rides again!

Yep. It's that time of year again. The time when I can put Miles in cute costumes and take his photo. He's still not resisting. As a matter of fact, he's going willingly!

Last night, he saw the dog's Santa hat (yes, I dressed them up before I had a kid)and wanted it. I dug out the Santa costume that's been waiting for him since last year (it was too large for last holiday, so he wore a reindeer suit for his Santa photo). He immediately wanted to put the whole thing on over his pajamas. So we did it. Then he didn't want to take it off.

Then he said, "Take picture!" I'm not kidding. So we trundled up to the front of the house, got the camera, turned on the tree lights and, there was our little Santa, Jr.

Seriously. We didn't coach him.

Happy holidays!

The boys had no end of fun crawling through the "kitchen" setup.

Before the evening of mirth, MJJC was delivering veggies with Dad. It appears dragons don't care for radishes...
