Six Week Visit

Today we went for our six week well-baby checkup. It was a good visit and we left happy and reassured. We live in doubt and fear that we are somehow not doing this right. We are, after all, awfully old and inexperienced. We are certain that we will warp his weave and twist his little tail, to say nothing of his little exponentionally expanding universal brain. The doctor insisted everything is on schedule and Miles is, in fact, a well-baby.

*He now weighs nine pounds and fourteen ounces.
*He is twenty-two and a quarter inches long.
*His extensive genetic test came back negative for everything.
*He is thriving and nursing well.
*He becomes more present every moment. And he is such a present for us and the world.

Right now, however, he is inconsolable and screaming. Time for me to relieve Mom.
